Parking referendum will be on the November ballot…

Cincinnati voters will get to decide whether the City will be able to lease out the City’s parking concession.  City leaders claim that part of the $92 million down payment will prevent police and fire layoff that will now occur in June due to the delay for the vote.  The lease is set to run for at least 30 years, with portions of the lease being for 50 years.

Do you believe these dire projections from the City?  If you live in the City, how do you think that you will decide this issue?  Should long term leases of public assets be used to solve short term budget problems?
