Lemon Law

If you are having repeated problems getting your new vehicle repaired, and it was purchased or leased from an authorized dealer or lease company, state lemon laws may help you get it repurchased, replaced or repaired. Lemon laws require an automobile manufacturer to repurchase or replace a vehicle that has not been properly repaired "within a reasonable number of repair attempts." Some examples of vehicles covered by state lemon laws include cars, trucks, motorcycles, motor homes and ATVs. In some cases, your used vehicle may be covered.

Generally, a defect covered by a state lemon law must be a defect which substantially impairs the use, value or safety of your vehicle. State lemon laws place time or mileage limitations on when the defect must be presented to the manufacturer or authorized dealer in order to be covered. Even if you do not fall under the provisions of a state lemon law, you may still be entitled to a remedy under the Federal Breach of Warranty Law, know as the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

Lemon laws can be confusing. If you believe you are driving a defective vehicle, call Young, Reverman & Mazzei Co., L.P.A., for a consultation.
